No One is Above the Law! Except...?

And there we are... "no one is above the law" has been flushed down the toilet. Oh, us, little people who have to follow the law! The precedence has been set, Killary is said not to be facing the charges for something that Republicans or anybody else really would have been already charged long time ago. Hillary Clinton might have set precedence (unless certain things only apply to her), and anybody not treating confidential, highly classified information the way it should, won't be charged, but just "investigated".

Attorney General met with her husband for a private meeting. "Not planned meeting"... right...

This woman cannot become a president! 

What have people been thinking when voting for her??? We need God... so badly... family values are being trampled on, Christians are being persecuted but it goes under "equality" or "inclusiveness" or "basic rights" or... Everybody but Christians can practice their religion freely and hold on to their religious convictions. All those perverted ways are acceptable and people who practice those talk about how we are called to love one another. How come they are so blind as not to understand that loving a person and not agreeing with what they are doing is possible. We are indeed called to love one another but it's based on truth. We cannot deny or ignore what the truth is while loving our neighbors...

But here we are... a crooked person is running for Democrats, people are voting for her because she is a woman. Those same people who voted for Obama and his "if you liked you doctor, you can keep your doctor" and his so called transparent government... and... this is insane! And yet, people voted for him!  Hillary Clinton CANNOT become a president!!!

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW! NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW! NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!!!!

God, we need you and your guidance now more than ever... Please help us... please show your power... We are begging you and humbling ourselves before you. We need you!!!

Ponderings

I thought I should express my thoughts. Seeing the statistics the blogspot offers, I don't have readers (probably some people end up here by accident), but somehow I want to express my thoughts here.

It's about the shooting that took place in Orlando. Senseless, wrong... so wrong... so sad... heartbreaking...

There are so many things I do not understand. The person who performed that horrific crime had pledged allegiance to ISIS, was gay (or frequented that bar often, I'm not certain yet), and they said a democrat... and somehow Republican gun owners, and especially Christians get blamed for that! Now... how? That shooter proclaimed who he was and yet... Christians are blamed... 

That Muslim extremist's actions are Christians' fault... Let's let that sink in a bit. 

Also, somehow this extremist doesn't represent all Muslims (I understand that), but somehow as a gun owner, he represents all gun owners. What? Again, how?

Those who go for gun control... don't they understand that by limiting/removing/damaging the 2nd Amendment is simply a slippery slope to removing all the rights. Where do they think things end? Just controlling gun ownership? No.  

So... owning guns should be made illegal... and that would solve the gun problem? Sure. See, how well it worked with illegal drugs! Drug problem is solved, U.S.A. has no drug addicts, no need for rehabilitation centers, no need for monetary assistance to help those addicted because there are no addicts... Right? 

If someone with a gun had been in that bar... I think that senseless shooting would have had a lot fewer victims... fewer grieving families. 

I personally do not want a gun. They scare me. Just the way I am. But there are things that scare but that doesn't mean they are bad.

The direction our country is taking is scary. Actually the direction it has taken is scary. We have a president who issues orders that are not constitutional, a presidential candidate who is under investigation although the wheels are turning incredibly slow. That same candidate has been endorsed by our current president... now... that only means sped up investigations, right? Right... 

Sad... such a sad time for the Americans and our nation. Where will it end??

4 Weeks to a More Organized Home

Here we go again! I will be joining Money Saving Mom on getting the house into a more organized form in 4 weeks. I suspect it came a month earlier since they will be moving next month, but either way, it's okay (even if it doesn't feel like the "real" spring cleaning :).

I am optimistic. There is a chance that I will follow through most of it. At least the parts that involve cleaning and organizing. Not so much with the routine nonsense. I only say "nonsense" because my goal really is to get this house clean/organized and not worry about when I'm drinking my morning coffee. No, they are not mutually exclusive, but I have my own way of doing things. And who knows, maybe by the end of March I am in so many routines that I will even have a routine for those routines. And then some :).

When I saw this post yesterday (actually, I was very surprised that MSM posted on Sunday! Since when??), I haven't been able to stop thinking about how much I need it. I just hope I won't start the projects with a great hooray only to only settle with getting myself dressed and kids fed :D

Well, I haven't written here much but here are a few more books I've managed to finish in between. Not Christian, though.

Back Story (Spenser Novel) by Robert B. Parker

I absolutely love Spenser novels and Robet B. Parker is an amazing writer. The dialogues he has come up with are unparallelled and absolutely enticing. I enjoy those books so much that I am currently going through this series for the second time :)

2)

Thin Air (Spenser Novel) by Robert B. Parker

What can I really say? Awesome read, a true page turner and a delight. Read it, people! I don't have readers, I know, but it's still fun to say :)

Hundred-Dollar Baby (Spenser Novel) by Robert B. Parker

Another awesome read. The dialogue, great characters. The main character has connections in both worlds but everybody who knew Spenser knew that his word was good. No matter what. Page turner and hard to put down :)

Bad Business (Spenser Novel) by Robert B. Parker

An awesome, awesome read. This author is incredible and I am so happy that he shared his talent by writing all those books. I was very sad to hear about the author's death.

Yet Another Book

"Clever Household Tricks" by Patricia Woodrow

I don't think I have any followers but if you do read this blog - I do NOT recommend this book. Totally waste of Kindle space and good thing I got it for free. I have seen everything on either Pinterest or any other website and this author has simply put them in one book and declared it to be hers. Yes, you may not be aware of those, so it's helpful but still, it all has been seen already, so for those of us who look around for tips like that - for us, this book is useless. It is not a book anyway - a pamphlet maybe

Another Book

"Short Straw Bride" by Karen Witemeyer

A fun read with interesting characters and a great story line. If one has to get married and the potential grooms draw straws, well, what can you really expect? :) But it's a nice page turner. Romantic feelings, doing your duty, protecting what matters, dealing with narrow minded people. Like I said, fun :)

Now that's more like it! Not a routine cleaning since most of us tend to forget to clean something unless there is a visible smudge on it.  I wish I did have all those "i-somethings" but I'll clean my good ol' vinyl player :) We'll see.

Another Book

"Remembering Christmas: A Novel" by Dan Walsh - very lovely book and like all Dan Walsh's books - a page turner. It was a sweet story about trusting God with everything and never giving up. And book was filled with love and interesting relationships. A very good read.

30 Day Housecleaning Challenge: Day 25

Today’s project is to surface clean or deep clean your kitchen and/or living room.

What did I do? Glad you asked. I cleaned out my children's sandbox :). 

If you think it was one of those turtle or crab shaped plastic boxes sufficient for one toddler then you'd be wrong. We have a big one right under the swing set and the weeds have started growing through it and the sand is not sand there anymore - it's dirt and in my mind it's disgusting. So, I did what I could today - pulled weeds, raked pine needles, picked up broken toys etc. It was a ton of work and I am not done as far as preparing it for more sand. 

I think a lot more of the old dirt needs to be removed in order to fill it with decent sand so hat when the kids dig with their spades and buckets that they won't hit the dirt very soon. So, there is work to be done but I think it was a nice start. Not very good for your back, though...

I really don't know why I'm following this challenge :D

Vacuumed living room and did major tidying up downstairs. I know. I'm right on track :)

Coffee Filter Sunflower

Craft time!

What you need:

- 3 basket coffee filters (white)
- markers, crayons
- glue
- scissors
- pencil
- pipe cleaners
- green construction paper
- tape

What you do:

• Take coffee filters, fold in half and then again in half - it will look like a triangle
• Draw with pencil or cut without it out petals (four peaks)
• Unfold the filters and separate them
• Color it in the shades of yellow and brown (whatever suits your fancy - throw in some orange)
• Cut out a circle for the center and color it brown
• Glue the filters on top of one another but don't match the petals - will look more sunflower-y
• Cut some of the scraps into smaller pieces and glue in the center of your flower
• Now glue your flower center on top of the scraps to make it look 3D
• Glue your pipe cleaner on he back (I used tape, glue didn't work well)
• Cut out some green leaves from the construction paper and glue them to the pipe cleaner.

You are done! :)

And yes, I know that it doesn't look too good in the picture. But my two-year-old and I did it together and I am fairly satisfied with the outcome. And it was fun :)

What did I do? Nothing! :) Well, not in the main sense. I went through old papers, shredded them, cleaned kitchen a bit, dealt with trash. But as far as a "challenge" I am doing my very own "following" :D. Or am I?

And what have I been able to accomplish so far? I cleaned one of our house's worst windows. The window is pretty much from floor to ceiling and all the crevices were incredibly dirty and filled with stuff I'd rather not describe... There was years worth of stuff in it (I doubt the former owners went this deep either). It had to be done. And it took me hour and a half... And then the room's general mopping and vacuuming (which was nothing but I just looked it over a bit more carefully). 

The outcome was great. The room was all sparkly and dust free. For how long? :)

Coffee Filter Craft

So, we decided to do a fun craft today. Markers are very rare in this house because of all the mess it brings with it, so it was a treat :)

Idea came from www.ICanTeachMyChild.com site:

He's Got the Whole World in His Hands (Coffee filter craft)

- Take one coffee filter
- Give your toddler green and blue markers and have him or her color intermittently the entire filter (if you can :) - my toddler left some empty spots :).
 - Put some water in the spray bottle and spray the filter gently until the marker colors start blending
- Wait until it dries (I didn't :)
- Put it in the laminating pouch and send it through the laminator.

And here is our result:

You can't deny it looks cute. And the artist is a two-year-old :)

What have I done so far? Cleaned our bathroom really well :D I wonder if I should be worried about my skill to follow a challenge that looks nothing like it? But day is young (middle aged actually), so I might actually get around to my pantry and fridge (although, both are quite well organized and taken care of but it doesn't hurt to wipe down the shelves in the fridge).

Update:

I cleaned out one of our major closets... Oh vey... that was a chore! Good result but sheesh... I didn't think it was that bad... But it's done now! Woohoo!

Your project for today is to deep clean your bathroom(s).
You can follow this list, if you find it helpful:

• Set the timer for 20 minutes and put toilet cleaner in each of the toilet bowls and let it soak.
• Remove any items that don’t belong in the bathroom, put away items that need to be put away in the bathroom, empty the trash.
• Spray and wipe down the sink and tub.
• Finish swishing and cleaning the toilet.
• Shake the rugs outside (or throw them in the laundry) and mop or vacuum the floors.
• Wipe down the outside of the cupboards and clean the mirror.
• You’re done!

 What did I do? I cleaned out the garage! :D Yep, following the challenge to the T :).  But I got so much done - a lot of junk got deposited or stored in an appropriate place. Tons and tons of trash (things that were not worth of storing even in a "more appropriate" place). Besides our regular weekly trash I had accumulated 4 more bags of extra from the garage, plus two more bags of recycleable paper and tons of cardboard! 

Boy, that feels awesome to clean out something like that. There is still things to do, but now the main thing that was just bothering me to no end is done/gone/taken care of and it makes everything else so much easier to accomplish.
